It’s been a couple weeks since I’ve published a blog post and I promise it’s for good reason this time. If this is your first time here, the site got a creative facelift and I’m very pleased with the outcome. There were definitely some challenges along away, but then again the behind the scenes isn’t always glamourous.
So, let’s catch up a bit…..
In the last month I started a new job that I absolutely love. It’s been some time now since I’ve been in a space career wise where I’ve felt valued and challenged. In a short period of time the enthusiasm I once had for my 13 year old career is in full force. It’s a good place to be in. Often times we pray for things, get it, and want God to take it back because of all the trials that come with it. I’ve been there and today, instead of hoping for perfect situations (at work) I pray that God would give me wisdom to adjust and the confidence to push forward when the unexpected comes knocking at my door.
In the wonderful world of blogging I feel like I’m only just scratching the surface. For me it’s not only about being creative but also curating a platform that encourages and uplifts. I’m still finding that balance of showcasing all the things I find interest in but also making sure that it always points back to living a life of faith. I realize that the only way to perfect this is to simply keep going. Sometimes the unanswered questions prevent us from pressing forward but if we keep going there is much to discover about our craft and ourselves.
At the beginning of the year I had a book concept in my head but it just didn’t feel right at the time so I set it to the side. I currently have several book concepts in the works and in the near future I’ll decide which one I’ll give my love and attention to. It’s time. It’s been time!
On a health front, I really feel like my metabolism is laughing at me these days. That coupled with reverting back to bad eating habits has truly set me back. Diabetes runs in my family and so it’s important to be preventative and not reactive when it comes to my health. I know this and I need to do better. I used to thoroughly enjoy working out and even considered getting into personal training way back when. I think the realization that I simply cannot eat whatever I want anymore and that cardio needs to be my new best friend has made me dislike it just a tinge. Health is wealth though so it’s time to get over it and find my will power again.
As I write this blog post I feel extremely grateful. I’m not deserving at all for what God continues to do in my life. I can assure you that behind edited pics, quotes, and the daily encouragement I try to give others is really just someone trying to figure it out herself. I don’t have all the answers and a lot of days I’m just a hot mess fighting for joy and peace. God is good and no matter the struggles we all face behind closed door, there is hope in God. There is freedom is trusting God.
I’m excited about life in general. I’ve got a lot to do in many different areas of my life. It’s only up from here.
