Being More Present
It's been well over a two months since I visited Cape Town, South Africa but the impact of the trip hasn't withered away and I don't think it ever will. I miss the friends I made and the country in itself. During the trip we were encouraged to take in every moment and to be conscious of not constantly pulling out our phones. We were fortunate enough to have a photographer accompany us and that definitely allowed us to enjoy each day without worrying about capturing moments.
Our world is so consumed by the internet and social media that I think we sometimes forget to enjoy the moments in our lives that we will never get back. I think its okay to take selfies and pictures, but there is something about being more present for the events going on in our lives. I personally want to do better where this is concerned. I want to call more and text less. I want to scroll less and be more present. So, cheers to living more in the moment, taking in all we can, and connecting more with the people that we love. Here are a few more pictures from my trip. Have a good week!
